Congress Approves More Benefits for Jobless
The House and the Senate have passed H.R. 3548 to extend Unemployment Benefits up to 20 weeks and extend the $8000 homebuyer tax credit.  (11/05/09)
ETA Assistant Secretary Interviewed On C-Span
ETA Assistant Secretary Jane Oates appeared on C-SPAN on October 25, 2009. The interview focused primarily on extending unemployment benefits, but she also discussed and responded to many questions from the panelists on the larger mission of ETA--retraining, employment services, and other issues.  (11/04/09)
NASWA President Karen Lee Submits Letter In Opposition To Proposed DOL Rule
On October 17th, President Karen Lee submitted a letter to the Administrator of the Office of Policy Development and Research expressing opposition to the creation of an Electronic Job Registry as outlined in the Notice of the Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) for Temporary Agriculture Employment of H-2A Aliens in the United States.  (11/04/09)
