Hotel Accommodations

Rooms have been reserved at the Rushmore Plaza Holiday Inn and Hotel Alex Johnson. It is recommended to book early, as room availability is not guaranteed.

The block of rooms at the Rushmore Plaza Holiday Inn is the conference rate of $65 plus 7.84% tax. The Rushmore Plaza Holiday Inn is located at 505 North Fifth Street. To make reservations, call the Rushmore Plaza at 605-348-4000. Please indicate you are attending the NASWA Annual Conference. Reservations must be made by August 18, 2005, to ensure accommodations at the conference rate.

Overflow rooms at the Hotel Alex Johnson are a rate of $89 plus 8% tax. Hotel Alex Johnson is located at 523 Sixth Street. Please reference Group #3515 when making reservations by calling at 605-342-1210/800-888-ALEX(2539). Reservations must be made by August 11, 2005, to ensure accommodations at the conference rate.

The Rushmore Plaza Holiday Inn has set the standard for excellence in both service and accommodations in the upper Midwest. This upscale hotel features an eight story, open atrium with an abundance of greenery, glass elevators and a cascading waterfall. The Plaza features the Tiffany Grille and piano lounge. As referred to in the movie "North by Northwest," and featured on the "Today Show" and Food Network, the Hotel Alex Johnson has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1981. Outlets of the Hotel include Landmark Restaurant, Paddy O'Neill's Pub, Landmark Lounge, and Alex Johnson Mercantile. Transportation
Meeting attendees are responsible for individual travel arrangements to and from Rapid City, as well as ground transportation during their stay. Shuttles are available between the Rapid City Airport and the hotels for a minimal fee.

Meeting Support Operation
A Registration/Information/Message Center will be available at the Rushmore Plaza Atrium and will be open beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, September 12, 2005.

Special Accommodations
In order to ensure full participation and accessibility for all meeting attendees in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, please notify the South Dakota Department of Labor of any special requirements by calling 605.773.5395.

Payment
The registration fee is $350 if paid by August 12, 2005. After August 12, the registration fee is $400. Guest evening passes are available for $150. Checks (payable to the South Dakota Department of Labor) or purchase orders/money orders may be used to pay registration fees.

Registration fee payments may be mailed separately or paid on site. It is not necessary to delay submitting a registration form or reserving a hotel room in order to send the fee payment at the same time. Please reference the attendee's name(s) to ensure proper credit if the payment is mailed separately.

Note: Avoid Additional Charges -- Once the online registration form is completed, do not print, mail or fax a hard copy of the online form. Processing of such forms is subject to a $25 handling fee. A $450 registration fee is charged to any participant registering during Sept. 12 - 15 on site.

Refund and Billing Policy
Registration fees, minus a $50 handling fee, will be refunded provided a written notice of cancellation is received by August 12. No refund will be made for cancellations received after August 12. All refunds will be paid by check approximately 45 days after the meeting.

Registrants who do not attend or send a replacement will be billed the applicable registration fee.

Registrants who do not prepay the registration fees will be invoiced a $50 handling fee if written cancellation is not received by August 12.
