With the nation's economy reeling from the largest monthly job decline in nearly five years, the House Ways and Means Committee has released a report underscoring the need to immediately extend unemployment benefits.  (04/09/08)
McDermott Announces Hearing on Extending Unemployment Insurance
Congressman Jim McDermott (D-WA), Chairman of the Subcommittee on Income Security and Family Support of the Committee on Ways and Means, has announced that the Subcommittee will hold a hearing to assess the need to extend unemployment benefits given current labor market conditions. The hearing will take place on Thursday, April 10, at 10:00 a.m.  (04/03/08)
