The James F. Walls Local Office/One-Stop Employee of
the Year Award honors a local office/one-stop employee
whose conduct demonstrates his or her outstanding
dedication to customers and fellow employees, and
extraordinary service to his or her local community. The
award was created in memory of its namesake, an
employee of the South Carolina Employment Security
Commission, who was killed while performing his duties.
AWARD CRITERIA: The
individual must:
- have demonstrated outstanding dedication to
customers and fellow employees as well as
extraordinary service to his/her community; and
- have met the challenge of reorganization within the
existing workforce system with vigor; and,
- be an employee of a local office/one-stop
center.
NOMINATION REQUIREMENTS:
The nomination must:
- be submitted by July 12, 2007;
- contain a resume or biographical sketch;
- contain a completed Walls Award nomination form [PDF] or [Word];
- contain answers to all questions listed on the Walls
Award nomination form within prescribed word
limits;
- include a statement of approval from the agency
administrator; and,
- be the only nomination for that state in that category.

must be attached to the nomination. Include 6 copies of
nomination packet.
SELECTION PROCEDURES:
The NASWA Board of Directors will designate from among its members an annual awards committee which will review all nominations received and select the award recipient.
