NASWA's EUC icon image Update on UI Extension
3/18/2010 at 9:30 am EST
With the EUC08 extension slated to expire on April 5, the House took action yesterday to avoid a lapse in the program by passing H.R. 4851 which would extend EUC08, FAC, Extended Benefits and COBRA through May 5th. Although both chambers support extending EUC08 through December 31, 2010, it is part of a larger legislative vehicle not likely to reach the President before Congress leaves for their Easter Recess in less than two weeks. We are hopeful the Senate will be able to act on the one-month extension quickly then send it to the President.
